Hook Norton is my spiritual home
July 25, 2006Just got back from our annual sojourn to the cotswolds. I think that this one weekend a year where I meet up with Andy, Gibbo, Darce, Pedz, Whipper and less occassionally Leo, Wheeldon and the sliver fox himself, Inglis is definitely one of my favourite events of the whole year. It must be the combination of camping, beer, football and human pyramids (and beer).
This year it rained which is very unusual and it made it into a different experience again from previous years. We met new people, listened to some of the music and even had a lockin in the beer tent at the end of the night. Of course we still did all the usual stuff, Aunt Sally, footy, singing, pyramids, but with the extras it made this year that much better than previous ones (although they are all good).
I won’t recommend that you all high tail down there next year (there could be women and children reading this and it is NOT a family do it’s strictly for grissly beardy blokes) but if you do ever find yourself at a loose endon July the 17th or thereabouts (or sometimes the week after - just to keep you guessing) and you are in the Oxfordshire area then do drop by and share an ale or two with us.
