Drawing a veil
October 27, 2006I disagree with the archbishop. Not for the first time I don’t suppose. Here he is telling us that we should let people wear the veil or the cross as outward signs of their faith. If we don’t “It assumes that what comes first in society is the central political ‘licensing authority’, which has all the resource it needs to create a workable public morality.”
Or, as I argued before, it assumes that we are all people first and foremost and our faith is something that doesn’t consume us, merely helps define who we are.
I watched Longford last night and here was a man that didn’t wear any outward sign of his recently converted catholic faith, he just lived it. He genuinely tried to do what Jesus would do and look where it got him.
